The Federation of Women's Institutes is the largest organisation for women in the UK. There are 215,000 members spread throughout England, Wales and the Channel Islands. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own separate smaller organisations.

The WI aim is to educate women to enable them to take an active part in today's society not only within the UK but on a worldwide platform and special emphasis and support is given to the areas of human trafficking, violence against women and female adult education.
